Incredible or insecure India?

The rape of Japanese tourists has once again proved that India is not a safe place to visit. With such heinous crimes ‘Incredible India’ campaign appears to be more of a farce. India has also failed to emerge as a secure destination for domestic travelers as well. But why is India failing time and again, and what step should be taken to make India a more secure destination? And what role can a layman play on his part? And what effects would such incidents have on tourism industry?

Better not to say anything this time.Feel Ashamed of happening such crimes with International Tourists too.At one time we talk about economic growth ,tourism growth and again we fall down on the name of security or infrastructure. No Doubt our Cops are working hard now to stop these type of activities but it is not matching to the speed we are growing. We have to take the help of technology like security camera's Transimeter speed to moniter the whole road system and Parking or other insignificant area.Cops can play a harder role on this part .Definately it will affect the tourism if continues the same in future .

The Supreme Court of India has called for severe punishment for acts of violence against women. This has been a step towards making India a safer place to live in and visit. The social structure in India, where women are covered from head to toe in the name of religion and are second rated in all spheres of life from birth till death, where Electronic media potrays women as an object of desire even in Advertisements where the presence of women is not even required, where the punishment is just not enough compared to the severity of the crime being committed, encourages men to commit such heinous crimes. We, in India, talk about our high moral values! "Atithi Devo Bhava" is one of these high morals preached in India but when it comes to putting these morals into practise, our countymen leave no stone unturned to bring us shame globally!

well yes such incidents do leave a bad mark on India's campaign to promote itself as a good and safe tourist destination which in turn can cause serious repercussions to our tourism industry. This is again because we have different laws and rules on paper and a completely different set actually gets implemented!! Now the role which a layman can play in this is that he/she should not forget his morals and look towards tourists as guests. By saying this i mean helping them in ways like giving them right directions and right information about the place. we should not forget that the impression carried by a tourist about a place depends heavily on the local's behavior. Also by not looking away from crimes or acts of wrong doing against tourists, a layman can contribute greatly on his part to support the indian values of 'Atithi Devo Bhava'

yes its a shame that such henious crimes are happening...a person came with a hope of enjoyment and relax..and wat she get in return....its really a shame....in india graph of rape has been increasing from past few yrs..whivh is really a sign of mentallity of people indirectly it reflects the mentallity of india....the problem is that many a times cops are also being indulged in these cases. by giving huge money they make their case withdraw its our political system which matters a lot. india is caimpaing to increase its tourism industry...INCREDIBLE INDIA BUT WATS THE INCREDIBLE??? if u cant give protection or take mesures to check these causes then these types of fake add should not be given...its true india has beaty and has different culture but that is not enough to attract tourist but security measures should also been taken so that to make india a INCREDIBLE INDIA.........

The whole campaign of Incredible India is in full swing with posters banners and ads even on NY times square, but heinous crimes like this would be a set back for the campaign.Lack of police force, their negligence and late justice has been the prime factor for boosting of such crimes. Also the decreasing moral values are matter of concern. If we are to preach and follow the tradition of "Athithi devo bhava" proper action needs to be taken like severe punishments, use of technologically advanced gadgets and adequate protection to the tourists otherwise it would be a great setback to the tourism industry in India.

OUR INDIA is really Incredible destination to visit, because it’s not only me there various international surveys which says the same. But the incidences of a ridiculous crime like rape of that Japanese lady and few days back with a German girl is question mark to above statement. These instances not only hampering growth of Tourism Industry in our country but also ruining our image worldwide because Indian are always know for having high moral values. Even Statistics reveals that major reason for increase in such instances is day by day diminished moral value and most importantly that most of cases remains unreported due to various reasons which enable culprit to escape and encourage other to act like that. Even I don’t know even a single case which has been reported to concerned Embassy and where suitable action has not been taken. In my opinion no gadgets will be able to reduce such crime unless there is a system for preventive and timely corrective action in place. So if we want to have a safe and Incredible India a layman have to take responsibility to make sure that they are playing role to improve moral values in common man and not even single a case should go unreported. Then only our India will be become BEST PLACE TO VISIT for Foreign as well as Domestic Tourists.

INCREDIBLE INDIA, an initiative by Ministry of Tourism is not a farce; however, the ministry did not try to or were not able to educate the citizens to respect each other irrespective of caste, creed and colour. India may boost about various tourist destinations but it cannot boost about well-behaved humans. By nature, we are rowdy, loud; and it is this intrinsic nature, which makes us lose control.
How can we forget the incidents of rape, sexual harassment of minors by those people who are supposed to protect them? Incredible India is an initiative to put India on the global tourist destination; however, our politicians forgot that these kinds of initiatives require a great deal of research about the society — whether the society is mature enough to handle foreign tourists under this initiative. The planning and the executing committee for the Incredible India should have made a thorough check on the social elements troubling our country. So many unemployed youths are either driving public transport so the competition for more customers per day starts from the airport itself. We have to understand that this is troublesome for the foreigners who come to relax in India. With a huge difficulty and patience we have are trying to paint India as a land of various cultures, traditions and practices all living with harmony. However, all these incidents of rape, theft and road rage kill our efforts. We have to understand that we are indeed an Incredible India and then only we will be able to promote it with more gusto and confidence. We all as the citizens of this wonderland called India should behave responsibly and understand our duties. Would we behave like this with out houseguest? I guess no, then why do we behave like this with a person who is the guest of our nation? Why cant we be humans for once and be helpful to each other. We can start by standing against an eve teaser however, that does not mean that one has to take the law in his or her hands. However, ensure that you have handed the criminal to the police. In addition, our men in khaki uniform have to understand that it is there duty to protect the citizens from the unwanted social elements. We all need to play our part equally to ensure that our India is secure and truly incredible.
